About this Recipe
Hi! The starbucks veganized series continues with these amazing belgian waffles ! Unlike other waffles the belgian ones are made with yeast instead of baking powder. They turn out golde, crispy and delicious. Together with some various toppings like berries, maple syrup and more, an unforgettable dessert!
Enjoy!

Ingredients
- 250g flour
- 1/2 tsp instant yeast
- 3 tbsp sugar of choice
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 110g softend vegan butter
- 120 ml plant milk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
You can use any kind of ground nuts but I decided to take almonds like in the original cinnamon star recipe. I replace the egg with some more water and flax seeds.
Extra tip:
I personally prefer them soft and juicy that’s why I do not bake for long. If you would like them a bit crispy, just put it in the oven for a bit longer.

Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Preheat a waffle iron.
Add flour, yeast, sugar and salt to the bowl of a stand mixer.
Whisk to combine.
Step 3
Knead on medium until smooth (10 min). Cover and let rise in a warm place (ideally 35C degrees) for 1h- 1h 30 or until doubled in size.
Step 2
Add milk, vanilla and softened butter and knead with hook attachment until just combined.
Cover and let rest for 5 min.
Step 4
Lightly grease with butter or oil. Divide dough into small pieces.
Bake according to the machine instructions.
